Over 3.3 lakh students across Assam have been waiting for this moment since their exams wrapped up in March β and the wait is finally over. The Assam HS Result 2026 is set to be declared on 28th April 2026, as officially confirmed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Whether you appeared for Arts, Science, or Commerce, here is everything you need to know β result websites, how to check, what details you'll need, and what to do next. Stay updated with all Assam education news on NE Career Hub.
If you're wondering why some sources say AHSEC and others say ASSEB β both are correct, just from different points in time. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) was merged into the newly formed Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) in September 2024, which now handles both Class 10 (SEBA) and Class 12 (AHSEC) examinations. The HS Final Examination is managed specifically by ASSEB Division-II. So when you see AHSEC mentioned on result portals or your admit card, that is the same authority β just under its older name. For all updates from ASSEB and other Assam government education bodies, visit NE Career Hub.
The Assam HS Result 2026 will be declared on 28th April 2026. Regarding the exact time β ASSEB follows a practice of not announcing it in advance. Going by past years, the result is typically made live around 9:00 AM, often announced through a press conference by the Chief Minister. Don't stay up all night refreshing β just have everything ready before 9 AM on April 28 and keep an eye on the official portals. For reference, the 2025 result came out on 30th April, the 2024 result on 9th May, and the 2023 result on 6th June β the timeline has been getting progressively earlier, which is good news for students.
Before April 28th, make sure you have the following details handy β you'll need them on every result platform:
Write these down somewhere accessible. On result day, the official websites often experience heavy traffic, so having your details ready saves you from scrambling.
The standard process across all official portals is the same. Here's how to do it:
Note that the marksheet available on result day is a provisional marksheet. Your original marksheet and pass certificate will be distributed by your school at a later date.
If the official websites are slow or crashing due to heavy traffic β which is common on result day β you have several reliable alternatives:
DigiLocker: Visit digilocker.gov.in or open the DigiLocker app. Log in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, go to the Education section, search for AHSEC, and enter your name, roll number, and year (2026) to download your marksheet. The DigiLocker copy is officially valid β most colleges accept it directly for admissions without needing the physical marksheet.
iResults.NET: Visit iResults.NET, which is the official third-party partner of ASSEB Division-II for online result publication. It is usually more stable than the government portals on result day.
Upolobdha App: Download the Upolobdha app from the Google Play Store. Open the app, enter your roll code and roll number, and your marksheet will display on screen.
ASSEB Results App: Also available on the Google Play Store. Open the app, select "HS (Class 12) Result," enter your roll code and roll number, and click Get Results.
SMS: Open your SMS app, type ASSAM12 followed by your roll number (e.g., ASSAM12 123456), and send it to 56263 or 5676750. Your result will be sent back to you as a text message. This works on any phone β even a basic one β and is genuinely useful if your internet connection is slow.
Once you access your result, the provisional marksheet will display the following information:
Check all these details carefully. If you notice any discrepancy in your name or marks, report it to your school immediately.
To be declared passed in the Assam HS Final Examination 2026, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each individual subject, including separate pass marks in theory and practical components where applicable. Failing in one or two subjects may make a student eligible for compartment exams. Failing in three or more subjects results in a full essential repeat, requiring re-appearance in the next annual examination cycle.
For context, the 2025 Assam HS Final Examination recorded an overall pass percentage of 81.77%. Girls performed better than boys, with a pass rate of 82.95% compared to 78.42% for boys. The Vocational stream pass percentage in 2025 was 68.55%. These figures give you a general benchmark of where the 2026 results may land.
If you are not satisfied with your marks in any subject, AHSEC / ASSEB allows students to apply for re-checking or re-evaluation. The application window for scrutiny typically opens within 2β3 days after the result declaration. Keep an eye on ahsec.assam.gov.in for the official notification on fees and deadlines once the result is out.
The moment your result is in front of you, it's time to move fast β especially for college admissions. Seats fill up quickly. If you're planning to apply to colleges in Assam, the SAMARTH Admission Portal at assamadmission.samarth.ac.in is where all undergraduate admissions under DHE Assam happen. You can apply to up to 10 colleges in a single application. You will also need your DHE Assam Student Unique ID before completing your admission application. Get full guidance on both these processes on NE Career Hub.
For students appearing for national entrance exams β CUET UG registrations will also be open around this time, so check deadlines promptly. Don't let the result, whether it's exactly what you hoped for or not, slow down your next move.
