Dibrugarh University has officially notified the Dibrugarh University Admission Test (DUAT) 2026 for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2026β27. Online applications are open from 7th May 2026, with the last date being 28th May 2026. If you are a graduate from Assam or Northeast India looking to pursue a Master's degree, this is one of the most important entrance exams to apply for this year. Established in 1965, Dibrugarh University is one of the premier public state universities of Assam and a major centre of higher education in Northeast India. Located in Dibrugarh, the university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes across disciplines. Every year, the university conducts a centralized admission test to select candidates for its PG programmes across departments and affiliated and autonomous colleges.
Qualifying DUAT 2026 enables candidates to seek admission into the following programmes at Dibrugarh University and its affiliated and autonomous colleges:
The eligibility conditions vary by programme. Key requirements for major programmes are listed below.
MA and MSc: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree with Major/Honours in the concerned subject with at least 45% marks, OR a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in the applied subject and 45% marks in aggregate (General Programme candidates).
MCom: Same as MA/MSc β Bachelor's degree with Major/Honours in the concerned subject with at least 45% marks, or 50% in the subject with 45% aggregate from the General Programme.
MSc in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Medical Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
MA in Mass Communication and MA in Women's Studies: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 45% in Major/Honours or aggregate.
MA in Applied Psychology: Bachelor's degree (excluding Fine Arts), including Medical or Technical graduates, from a UGC-recognized university with at least 45% in Major/Honours or 50% in aggregate.
M.Ed.: At least 50% marks in B.Ed., B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. (Integrated), B.El.Ed., or D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree carrying 50% marks in each. The M.Ed. programme is recognized by NCTE.
MCA: BCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science/IT) / B.E. or B.Tech. (CSE/IT) or equivalent, OR any graduation degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories
