The wait is finally over for thousands of Class 12 students across Meghalaya. The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), headquartered in Tura, has officially declared the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination 2026 results for all streams β Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational β on Monday, 4th May 2026, at 11:00 AM.
Students who appeared in the MBOSE HSSLC exams, which were conducted from 18th February to 13th March 2026, can now access their marksheets online. If you are a Meghalaya student planning your next steps after Class 12, you can also explore Meghalaya government job opportunities on NE Career Hub to stay ahead of upcoming recruitment notifications.
In a significant move toward digital accessibility, MBOSE Controller of Examinations TR Laloo confirmed that physical display of results has been discontinued at both the Tura and Shillong offices. The entire result booklet β including stream-wise pass percentages and overall statistics β will be available for download directly from the official MBOSE website. This shift ensures students from across the state can access their results without traveling to board offices.
Checking your result is straightforward. You will need your roll number from your admit card β no additional credentials are required. Follow these steps:
The board will also publish a comprehensive result booklet with overall pass statistics, stream-wise performance data, and regional breakdowns β giving students and institutions a broader picture of how the 2026 cohort performed.
Your downloaded provisional marksheet will include your name, roll number, parents' names, subject names, and marks obtained in both theory and practical components. Students are advised to verify all details carefully after downloading.
To pass the MBOSE HSSLC 2026 examination, students must score a minimum of 30% aggregate marks as well as in each individual subject, covering both theory and practical papers. Students who score 80% or above in aggregate are awarded a star mark (*) on their result. For Science and Commerce stream students, this requires a minimum of 400 aggregate marks, while Vocational stream students need at least 640 aggregate marks to qualify for the star designation.
Students who do not clear the examination can appear for the Compartment or Improvement examination, which MBOSE conducts annually. Visit mbose.in for details on compartment exam schedules and procedures.
For context, MBOSE had already declared the SSLC (Class 10) Results 2026 on 7th April 2026 at 11:00 AM. The Class 10 exams were held from 30th January to 11th February 2026. This year's board result season has followed a timeline broadly similar to 2025, when HSSLC results were announced on 5th May.
With your Class 12 result in hand, your next step could be higher education, competitive exams, or entering the job market. Many government recruitment notifications in Meghalaya accept Class 12 (12th Pass) candidates directly.
